Health and Safety Policy
We place great importance on the health and safety of both our staff and our client’s employees in all areas of operations. By working with our client’s, we investigate the individual risks associated with your site, and address these, during the on-site training.
Benchmark Cleaning Services carefully adheres to the Health & Safety & Safety at Work Act 1974 and is reliant on full co-operation from all parties to ensure the highest standards are maintained. All our employees are given a copy of the Health & Safety & Safety Act 1974 – Letter of Intent, as part of their initial training programmes.
With regard to all products used on a site, we supply copies of Product Safety Data Sheets (in accordance with the Consumer Protection Act 1987) to be kept in the cleaners store for everyone to view, if needed. Each location must provide a first aid service to comply with the Health & Safety & Safety (First Aid) Regulations 1981.

To further promote the full understanding of health and safety, the following documents are provided:
- Promote a healthy and safe working environment, with ongoing development, introducing workable strategies and workable practices, through to evaluating effective monitoring and management procedures, which will assess and control any risks within safe work systems.
- Ensure safe use, clear identifiable hazardous substances/materials are controlled accordingly, and equally ensuring all our employees/suppliers fully complies to avoid breaches, in accordance with current legislation.
- Commit to compliance with relevant UK Health & Safety legislations, regulations, best practice ensuring all our people, suppliers, contractors fully adhere to avoid any breach of such legislation.
- Develop and promote our corporate management ethos to our staff to deliver a clear understanding of their responsibilities, and the relevance of undertaking their duties in such a manner and not to misuse/abuse anything provided by Benchmark Cleaning Services, their customers/clients in the interests of their own and other’s Health and Safety welfare in the workplace.
- Undertake regular risk assessments to ensure every work activity will describe the preventative/protective measures required to avoid, reduce, eliminate or control the risks identified to a tolerable level.
- Ensure all reportable/non reportable incidents are reported, promptly fully investigated and procedures implemented to prevent reoccurrence.
